Resources for People with Disability in STEM

May 4, 2017 Kit Englard

Femme de Chem has a new ongoing project! I am compiling a list of organizations and programs for anyone with a disability who is interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Professionals in the field, college and high school students, teachers, and parents will be able to find potential organizations, networking opportunities, and funding for research.

This is an ongoing project, and I will continue to add things to the list as I come across them.

Transcript available.

Femme de Chem Chats Braille Access Part I: The Space Issue

April 19, 2017 Kit Englard

This is the first part of two, discussing problems with access to braille materials. This week Kit focuses on the "Space Problem", because it is an important factor when discussing the overall accessibility of braille. She also covers where to find books for adults and kids!

Description: Kit is sitting cross-legged on a window seat at a library. Behind her you can see a traffic intersection. On her lap is a braille book, which she has both hands on as she reads. Transcript available.
